The illustration at the right shows the new patent-pending OverFitting OverHub Repair Coupling, manufactured exclusively by "A" Company. The inside diameter of the larger socket allows it to go over a traditional fitting's hub/socket. The smaller end functions as a standard DWV in-line repair coupling. The OverFitting is manufactured using NSF-approved PVC and ABS plastic resins for use in both residential and commercial drain-waste-vent applications. Plus, OverFittings install using the same chemically welding solvent cement always used to install a DWV PVC or ABS pipe fitting. |

You can think of it like this: a traditional in-line repair coupling allows you to cut out a section of pipe and "couple" the pipeline back together, whereas an OverFitting Repair Coupling allows you to cut out part of a fitting assembly and "couple" any remaining hub/socket to pipe or a street fitting.
